# CGCC Data Analysis #1: Tags

A few months ago I posted a few interesting bits of research on data from SEDE. It was fairly well-received, so I figured I'd do some more analysis. I might make this a weekly thing.

I decided to start with tags. This post will show some data relating to the most used tags, the popularity of posts based on the tags they use, and the most common combinations of tags.

All of this data is from April 6, 2020.

• I find the [math] [number] tag combination a bit worrying... – my pronoun is monicareinstate Apr 6 at 7:08
• @mypronounismonicareinstate I should post a question with the tags math number integer arithmetic number-theory – Redwolf Programs Apr 6 at 15:12
• @RedwolfPrograms I've paired code-golf with code-shuffleboard. So, 10 tags left? – user92069 Apr 14 at 4:09
• @petStorm I suppose so. It might be a bit hard to pair some of the remaining ones, like code-golf and code-trolling. – Redwolf Programs Apr 14 at 14:36
• @RedwolfPrograms It should be quite easy to make a tips for golfing in Prelude. – user92069 Apr 14 at 14:37
• So, what do you do? Change the part that says Just 11 out of 277 tags? – user92069 Apr 14 at 14:38
• @petStorm I think just keep everything the same (as I'd probably have to update everything else, too, to keep it accurate), and maybe completely update it once a month or something like that. – Redwolf Programs Apr 14 at 16:26
• Could you post a link to the Meta post about popularity contests no longer being allowed? I had a great question in mind for that tag. – ouflak Apr 16 at 15:12
• @ouflak It seems popularity-contests are still allowed, just not recommended. – Redwolf Programs Apr 16 at 18:54
• @ouflak If it is also tagged code-golf, awesome! – user92069 Apr 22 at 6:08
