Each month, we select a "language of the month" - a programming language that isn't as well used on the site - in order to promote usage of that language. This tag is for questions relating to the Language of the Month event, including discussion around the event and for the monthly posts featuring the specific languages of the month.

The Language of the Month event is a monthly event that aims to promote lesser-known languages. Users nominate languages, and vote on nominations they'd like to be the Language of the Month. At the start of each month, the nomination with the most votes becomes the Language of the Month for that month.

This tag should be used on questions specifically about the Language of the Month event, such as:

  • The monthly posts for each language
  • Discussion around the event

The monthly posts specifying that month's Language should be tagged with and and should follow this template:

In accordance with [our meta agreement][1], since one candidate received more votes than the others, we have a new featured language! Throughout {month} {year}, our Language of the Month will be:
