As of May 31, 2023, we have updated our Code of Conduct.

The system used by Stack Exchange to maintain high quality posts and remove low quality. There are 9 review queues, accessible to any user with at least 500 reputation, each for a different type of post that may need review

The review queues are 9 different queues on the main and meta site that allow users with more reputation to make sure that posts and actions by newer users are appropriate for the site. The queues are:

  • First Posts. This queue requires 500 reputation to access. Here, any post by a user who has not posted before is sent for review. One review is enough to send a review task out of this queue.

See How do I use the First Posts queue? for more

  • Late Answers. The queue requires 500 reputation to access. Answers by users with less than 50 reputation to an old question are sent to this queue. Reviewers should keep an eye out for hidden gems, and spam/low quality posts. A task only requires one user to review it to leave this queue.

  • Low Quality Posts. This queue requires 2000 reputation to access. Here, reviewers are shown short posts, typically by lower reputation users, that the system flags as being "Low Quality" due to their length. Note that, due to the standard answer format on the site, posts here are often just answers that don't have an explanation. It takes two of the same review action to remove a task from this queue

  • Suggested Edits and Suggested Edits on Meta. These queues require 2000 reputation to access. When a user with less than 2000 reputation suggests an edit to a post, that edit is sent into this queue to be reviewed. After 2 accept or reject votes, the edit leaves the queue and is applied if accepted.

Additionally, tag wiki edits are sent to this queue. However, these are only shown to users with 500 reputation.

  • Close Votes and Close Votes on Meta. These queues require 3000 reputation to access. Here, reviewers are shown questions that either have one or more pending close votes, or have a pending close flag. Users here should decide whether the questions should be closed or not.

  • Reopen Votes and Reopen Votes on Meta. These queues require 3000 reputation to access. Any closed question that:

    • Receives one or more reopen vote,
    • Receives a reopen flag, or
    • Is edited within 70 days of being closed

is sent to this queue so that other reviewers can determine whether it should be reopened or not.

This tag should be used on questions about the review queues, such as with the tools and reports.

A common "" report is that a review task is shown for one user and not a different user. This is , and bug reports about that will be marked as such.

posts are better posted on Mother Meta as the review system is identical on most other sites.
